According to Google, Typhoon Vamco, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Ulysses, was a powerful and deadly Category 4-equivalent typhoon that struck the Philippines and Vietnam. It also caused the worst flooding in Metro Manila since Ketsana in 2009.
I recently got a message from my uncle who is a pastor in the Philippines and their place in the city of Marikina (located in Manila) was greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses. Water got inside their home, but the damage was not that bad compared to their neighboring cities. My uncle and his family visited families in their ministry and friends in other parts of Marikina, San Mateo and Montalban. They saw houses got buried by mud and up till now families have not recovered yet. Although my uncle and his family are also in need of help, but out of the goodness of their hearts they decided to help others out in any way they can. They even shared the relief goods that they have received from some donors to those who are in worse situation than them.
The video at the side and pictures below will show you the first round of visit that my uncle and his family had done for some of the typhoon victims. They were able to find donors to give and donate sacks of rice, canned goods, etc. but they were not enough. There are still a lot of families needing help. Their mission is to reach out to more families and give them even a small food package that they can prepare for the Christmas/New Year's eve. They are also planning to donate insect repellants to the kids which they badly need. A lot of kids get sick from malaria or dengue during this time of the year. That's why we are doing our December promotion so that we can help even in a small gesture.
From now until the end of December, we will donate 10% of all Silvanas ordered through our online ordering to this mission. Also for every box that you purchase will give you a chance to win our giveaway contest. Check out the info here for details. We thank you in advance for your help and support. Maraming salamat at Maligayang Pasko! (Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!)
